Welcome to The Black & White Photography Journal

About

The black and white photography journal is a blog exclusively focus in the practice of black and white photography whether silver gelatine printing or digital black and white photography. The goal is to preserve and to keep black and white photography alive and to showcase and combine Portuguese artists with Australian artists who still believe in this form of art.
The B&W Photography Journal is a very young project that has only just started. It is a very small and not yet mature project but has everything to grow more and more.

The B&WPJ is open for any type of idea or concept to improve and grow this project. If you are a photographer who still have the passion for black and white and is keen to get involve please send an email or comment on this blog. I am sure we can work out something.

Founded by Eduardo Cordeiro, a Portuguese photographer who now resides in Brisbane, Australia, this blog was first created as a place for his own projects statements. After a few years, Eduardo began to publish more black and white photography as oppose to colour.

Eduardo Cordeiro has worked as a freelancer back in Portugal as well as a photographic lab assistant where he used to print both black and white and colour. In his careerhe has exhibited in Portugal, Czeck Republic and Australia. in 2011 he was selected for portfolio review at Photo Espana (photography festival,Madrid). As a part time, he also printed for some local photographers while studying and most of the prints were in silver gelatine. He always had an extremely passion for black and white photography and now he thinks that is the time to share his passion with the world to preserve the traditional silver gelatine method of printing and photographing in black and white.
